The crowds gather each evening at the Trocadéro to watch Paris perform one of its oldest nightly rituals. As darkness settles across the city, the Eiffel Tower glows above the esplanade, drawing cameras, conversations and quiet moments of admiration from every direction. From this elevated viewpoint, the tower feels both monumental and surprisingly close, framed by the open space of the esplanade.
Seen from the Trocadéro, the Eiffel Tower becomes more than a monument. It becomes a meeting place, a backdrop for celebrations and a reminder that some views in Paris never lose their impact, no matter how many times they are seen.
Light up times:
The Eiffel Tower’s golden lighting is switched on automatically at sunset each evening and remains illuminated until 1:00 AM.
The tower sparkles for 5 minutes at the beginning of every hour after nightfall. For example, if sunset is around 9:30 PM in summer, you would typically see sparkle shows at 10:00 PM, 11:00 PM, midnight, and 1:00 AM.
“You don’t look for the Tower — you simply notice when she finds you.”
