Tuesday's take on the tower - from Pont de Bir-Hakeim.

One of the most serene and cinematic viewpoints in Paris, taken by the 'La France renaissante' statue on the Pont de Bir-Hakeim. You get this striking, almost postcard-perfect view. The tower rises tall and elegant above a canopy of trees, with the river and moored boats in the foreground.

It’s far enough from the crowds at Trocadéro or Champ de Mars to let you enjoy the tower in relative peace, yet close enough that its presence dominates the horizon.

Practical tip: From this spot on the Pont de Bir-Hakeim walk under the metro bridge down the steps on the other side then along the full length of the Allée des Cygnes (about 850 metres) for changing angles and to view the quarter-scale Statue of Liberty at the southern tip, which faces west toward its big sister in New York.

“You don’t look for the Tower — you simply notice when she finds you.”

Part of the “Take on the Tower” Series
