Viewed from the Cours Albert 1er at the Pont de l’Alma, the Eiffel Tower rises behind the gilded domes of the Russian Orthodox Holy Trinity Cathedral, a scene that feels both classically Parisian and quietly unexpected. The Seine moves slowly beneath you and the city composes a new silhouette just for you, or so it seems.
There’s something pleasing about this layering of the shapes: the cathedral’s domes offering a warm foreground, the tower’s latticework climbing into the sky. It’s a reminder that Paris is a city as diverse as it is culturally rich, sometimes visible in a single frame.
Pause here for a moment and take in the view with the tower standing sentinel over it all.
“The tower is always the same, and yet always new.”
Part of the “Take on the Tower” Series
Each Tuesday we share one more view of the Eiffel Tower — familiar yet different, depending on the hour, the light, and the neighbourhood that frames it.
