From a lofty position - the windows and balconies of Paris

One of the pleasures of walking the Coulée Verte René-Dumont is that it offers unexpected views into the architecture of the 12th arrondissement. Looking above the trees, elegant façades emerge with their rows of tall windows, wrought-iron balconies and slate mansard roofs, classic features of the Parisian streetscape.

Seen from the elevated footpath, the upper storeys become the focus. Details that are easily missed from street level, from decorative ironwork to carefully proportioned dormer windows, reveal the craftsmanship that has defined Parisian apartment buildings for generations.

It's a reminder that in Paris, simply changing your viewpoint can reveal an entirely different side of the city.

Bon mercredi !

“Somehow, Paris always manages to be beautiful, even when it’s just quietly being itself.”
