Monday for the Metro : Censier–Daubenton métro

Red Paris métro sign above the entrance at Censier–Daubenton with Haussmann buildings and blue sky in the background.

There are few signs more reassuring in Paris than the red METRO appearing above the steps. After the tunnels and platforms below, emerging into daylight beneath one of these familiar markers is enough to remind you instantly where you are.

At Censier–Daubenton, the experience feels especially Parisian. You come up for air, look up and find a blue sky and that unmistakable sign standing between underground routine and life at street level.

Although Paris has experimented with different entrance styles over the years, the métro sign itself has become one of the city’s quiet icons. You do not need to see the Eiffel Tower to know you are in Paris.

Happy Monday everyone!
