A good weekend to be in Paris - bon week-end à tous - have a good weekend everyone.

Interior staircase hall of the Musée national Picasso-Paris with ornate sculpted ceilings, wrought iron railings and exhibition spaces viewed during an evening visit.

An invitation to experience the Musée national Picasso-Paris after dark during Nuit Blanche, when the museum opens its doors for an evening that feels very different from a daytime visit. Seen from the grand staircase of the Hôtel Salé, the building itself reminds visitors that this is as much about architecture as art.

Alongside the permanent collection, visitors can discover Henry Taylor. Where thoughts provoke, bringing contemporary work into conversation with Picasso’s world. There is something fitting about seeing the galleries at night, when the crowds soften, shadows lengthen across the stonework, and familiar spaces feel newly theatrical.

The museum occupies one of Paris’s finest seventeenth-century mansions, originally built for Pierre Aubert, known as “Salé” (“salted”) because his wealth came from collecting the salt tax, an origin story rather less romantic than the building’s elegant interiors suggest.
