Walking Rue du Val‑de‑Grâce in Paris 5ᵉ is like stepping through a living history book.
Named for the baroque Val-de-Grâce church, a royal gift from Anne of Austria after the birth of Louis XIV, the street once echoed with monastic chants, then army boots as the abbey became a military hospital, then a museum of medicine.
Today, it’s all low foot traffic, soft light, and timeless facades. A short street of quiet splendour, not loud, but rich in layers.
