Mon banc dominical / My Sunday Bench in Paris...Square du Temple - Elie Wiesel

Square du Temple – Elie Wiesel is one of those peaceful little spots in the Marais you only find if you’re paying attention. It's a pretty 19th-century garden with winding paths, old trees, a duck pond, and even a bandstand — but it also holds deep history.

It sits on the former site of the Knights Templar fortress, and later, the royal prison during the Revolution. More recently, it’s been renamed for Elie Wiesel, with a quiet memorial to 85 Jewish children from the neighborhood who were deported during the Holocaust.
It’s beautiful, calm, and quietly powerful — a perfect place to pause, reflect, or just sit under the trees for a while.
