The Fontaine de Rambouillet, in the 12th arrondissement. is also known as the Fontaine Hermann, after the engineer Hermann who donated it to Paris in 1845. It later became known as the Fontaine de Rambouillet because Rue de Rambouillet once ran alongside the gardens of the Folie-Rambouillet, the early-17th-century country house built by financier Nicolas de Rambouillet.
