When is a palace not a palace?

Luxembourg Palace viewed across the formal gardens of the Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris

This is the Luxembourg Palace which today is home to the French Senate, while the gardens in front belong to the people, as one of the great open spaces in the heart of the city.

From the garden, the 'palace' provides a grand backdrop to the formal parterres, statues and rows of the familiar green Sénat chairs which are popular any day of the week!

Hope your week ends well and it's followed by a lovely weekend
