End of an Era: Au Revoir, Roissybus.

Today marks the end of the Roissybus link to and from CDG airport. There was something reassuring about the Roissybus . No complicated maps. No underground tunnels. No sprinting down platforms with a suitcase bouncing behind you. Just a coach waiting patiently near the Opéra, doors open, luggage compartment ready, and the quiet promise that you would soon be on your way to Charles de Gaulle Airport . For decades, that simple blue bus was part of the Paris departure ritual. You would stand near Palais Garnier , glance once more at the grand façade, and feel that familiar mix of melancholy and anticipation. The bus would glide through the boulevards, past périphérique traffic, and steadily north toward the runways. No transfers. No stairs. Just Paris slowly fading behind the windows. Mon banc dominical / My Sunday bench - Boulevard Richard-Lenoir.

This wide, leafy boulevard, created by Haussmann in the 1850s and named after cotton industrialists, stretches over the hidden Canal Saint-Martin, from Bastille to République. A lone bench under tall trees, late afternoon light, gentle shadows stretching across the pavement.
