Rue Saint-Antoine, where old Paris meets the present.

Rue Saint-Antoine in the Marais with Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis church, shops, traffic and Parisian apartment buildings.
Rue Saint-Antoine in the runs through the Marais between the end of rue de Rivoli to Place de Bastille. The street has been part of the route into eastern Paris for centuries. Here, the façade of Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis at No. 99 provides a striking landmark among the shops, apartments, traffic and cafés. The church was built between 1627 and 1641 for the Jesuits, giving this very busy modern street a distinctly 17th-century presence.

“The streets of Paris are best explored without hurry — they reveal themselves only to the unhurried.”
