Rue Lepic is one of the streets that climbs the Montmartre hill and at No. 15 is the Café des Deux Moulins. The café takes its name from two nearby landmarks, the Moulin Rouge and Moulin de la Galette. Its name dates from 1918, long before cinema gave it a new claim to fame.
In 2001, Jean-Pierre Jeunet used the café as the workplace of Amélie Poulain in 'Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain'. The film turned this particular corner of Rue Lepic into one of the most recognisable café locations in Paris.
“The streets of Paris are best explored without hurry — they reveal themselves only to the unhurried.”
