This bench sits quietly among the plane trees in the Jardin du Luxembourg.
Leaves have begun to fall. A sculpted figure stands though acknowledging the calm of a Sunday. Along the gravel walk, occasional footsteps pass by but here, on this bench, there is a sense of gentle pause.
The light filters through green and yellow leaves overhead and for a moment, the garden feels simply open to being seen.
It’s a place to rest, watch, and let the day unfold.
“Paris has many views — but the one from a Sunday bench might be the most honest.”
Part of the “Mon Banc Dominical” Series
Each Sunday, we find a quiet corner of Paris — a bench, a park, a view — and let the city breathe for a while.
