Saturday on the streets of Paris...Rue Saint-Vincent

Clos Montmartre is a small vineyard created back in the 1930s to pay homage to the former winemakers of the Butte de Montmartre . It can be found by winding your way west behind the Sacré-Cœur, away from the tourists,onto Rue des Saules. Good articles on Clos Montmartre here and also here . This year,from the 11th to the 15th of October,sees the return of 'La Fête des Vendanges de Montmartre' with a programme of entertainment on the Butte.

What to pack for November in Paris...

We have been asked what the weather holds for the beginning of November in Paris and what you should pack to wear. Unfortunately we are just about to enter a cooler period in the city,which is normal for this time of year, with a high of 14 C . As to what to pack the key is layers - you will probably have to add some when going out in the evenings.With a high chance of rain predicted a classic waterproof trench coat is ideal. It it will serve you well during wet days but is easy to carry around should the weather improve, you can also layer it accordingly as the weather deviates. An umbrella is a useful addition but with predicted windy conditions this can prove difficult to control, oh, and hold on to your hat!
