The ongoing problem of maintaining the lawns of the Champ de Mars is a constant battle for the city with the hoards of annual visitors leaving their mark every year. Having to fence it off while being repaired is essential but unfortunate. The current work will have to have it looking its best for when the world looks on as the city hosts next year's Olympic Games.
