Throwback Thursday in Paris...and animal migration.

Our photo of Henri-Alfred Jacquemart's (1824-1896) 'Rhinoceros' on the square in front of the Musée d'Orsay was taken back in 2015 but did you know it has only been there since 1985?

Image: Pierre-Yves Petit.

It was commissioned as part of the Universal Exhibition of 1878 along with three other animal statues (a horse, an elephant and a bull) which were placed around the large Trocadéro basin between 1878 and 1935, they were then moved to the Porte de Saint-Cloud where the stayed until 1985 before finding their current resting place at the Musée d'Orsay.
