Rue Saint Martin where one side of the street remains after the other was demolished to make room for the Pompidou Centre. 

The barricade in Eugène Delacroix's iconic painting 'Liberty guiding the People' is thought to have been at 8 Rue de Saint-Martin. You can read a bit of history of the street here.
